Professional Summary

Isabel Akahori joined Burton Kelley, LLP in 2025 as an Associate Attorney specializing in civil litigation and insurance law. Prior to this, she focused her litigation practice on probate law, specializing in probate, conservatorships, and guardianships. During law school, Ms. Akahori clerked at a civil litigation firm focusing on employment law and breach of contract disputes.

Originally from Arizona, Ms. Akahori earned dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in French and Political Science from Arizona State University, followed by a Master of Public Policy (MPP). She earned her Juris Doctor from Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, where she was the recipient of the Dean’s Award and participated in several legal clinics.

After relocating to San Diego, Ms. Akahori earned her Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from the University of San Diego School of Law.

Outside the office, Ms. Akahori enjoys horseback riding and competes in show jumping with her horse, Comet. She also spends her free time with family and exploring the outdoors.
